WYLAB AND LE TREMPLIN BY PARIS&CO TO WORK TOGETHER
IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS INNOVATION
A NEW PARTNERSHIP HAS BEEN SIGNED BETWEEN THE FIRST ITALIAN SPORTS TECH INCUBATOR
AND THE WORLD’S FIRST SPORTS INNOVATION PLATFORM
Thanks to this 2-year-long memorandum of understanding, Wylab, the Italian private owned sports incubator and Le Tremplin by Paris&Co, the French renowned sports innovation platform will begin a new collaboration in the field of sports tech innovation.
Established in 2016, Wylab operates in a complexed ecosystem made of sports leagues, federations, clubs and athletes, sports tech brands, startups, investors, universities and research centres with the aim to bring innovation and new technologies into sport. Wylab has a network of 30 startups, and has invested direcly in 8 of them. Together with Wyscout, “the football company” and Virtus Entella, the group second division football club, it represents a unique innovation hub not only for the Italian market.
Created in 2014, Le Tremplin -“springboard” in French- is the world’s first Sports Innovation platform. Le Tremplin has since grown into a dynamic hub which brings together more than 100 sports-related startups with close to 30 large corporate and institutional partners around mentoring, workshops, conferences and events. Le Tremplin is an initiative of Paris&Co, the economic development and innovation agency of Paris and its metropole. Paris&Co seeks to enhance attractiveness and innovation, with the aim of creating jobs and value-add in Paris. It prospects and hosts foreign startups, promotes Parisian business opportunities internationally, and boosts the innovation ecosystem of the Paris metropolitan area by incubating new companies, beta-testing innovative solutions, organizing events and helping startups network with over a hundred corporate partners.
The agreement has been signed with the aim to create a bridge between Italy and France in the field of sports innovation, in particular by considering Wylab and Le Tremplin the points of reference and gates of entry to the respective markets, offering guidance and mentorship to startups, and giving access to innovative solutions for partners. This collaboration aims to reinforce the dynamism of the European sportstech landscape by opening new markets for French and Italian startups.
